When you have that special someone and you want to make them a romantic dinner have you ever wondered what to make or even how to make it romantic? Not all of us can pull that off, but some can.  One of those would be this author, Loretta J. Lombardi.  The pages scream romance and seduction.  The cover is extremely eye catching in my opinion suiting the theme well.

Ms. Lombardi is a unique author of cooking as she weaves the spell of sensual dining for the entire year.  She gives the reader the menu, ideas on flowers, and seductive quotes and poems. Add your own lighting and music and you have your romantic evening!

The recipes appear to be easy enough and not expecting a long time of cooking.  Most appeared around 30 minutes to an hour with some desserts chilling for 2 hours.   Ms. Lombardi has tried to provide nutritious meals based upon the Macrobiotic ideas.    My thoughts are that some of these ingredients may be hard to find or may need a specialty store to purchase them.

I would recommend this book for the unique approach to romantic dinners.   The suggested menus sound fun and creative especially when paired with the wine and flowers.

I absolutely loved this cookbook.  I highly recommend reading the introduction and not skipping it; trust me it will make a world of difference in understanding some of the passion the author has for her creations.  I am one who loves spices and herbs for meals and seeing how they are used abundantly and with the same intense love I have is a delight.

The author provides the reader with a history of some of the spices such as cinnamon and vanilla which I found to be very interesting.  The recipes look amazing in pictures and the way they are written appears easy to follow.  For the beginner baker and those with some experience, the tips the author provides are very helpful with understanding tools and ingredients and how to use them.

I definitely would have this as one of my personal cookbooks.  I highly recommend The New Sugar & Spice Cookbook as one to try.
